How LiveRem Works

4. How does LiveRem get data?

LiveRem integrates directly with your payroll or HRIS system. Data flows in automatically and securely via API, is anonymised, aggregated, and becomes part of the real-time market dataset.

If your system doesn’t have an API, a manual upload option is available.


5. Which systems does LiveRem integrate with?

We support 27+ payroll and HRIS systems including BambooHR, Employment Hero, PayHero, Xero, iPayroll, Datacom, MYOB and more.
New integrations are added regularly.


6. How long does setup take?

Most organisations are live in under one hour:

7. How is data anonymised?

All employee data is aggregated at market level.
No customer can ever view another organisation’s individual salaries.

LiveRem meets ISO27001 and SOC-2 standards and follows strict privacy, encryption, access control, and audit requirements.

10. How often is the data updated?

Data updates every time a customer runs payroll or updates a role.
LiveRem refreshes this every 24 hours — it is genuinely real-time.


11. Which roles are benchmarked?

Any role in your payroll or HRIS system, including:

  • Individual contributors

  • Developers and engineers

  • Marketing, sales, HR, finance

  • Operational, shift-based, and frontline

  • Senior leadership and executives

(Contractor and governance roles are not currently included.)

14. What are Communities?

Communities are closed benchmarking groups for industries, associations, or clusters of similar organisations.
You contribute anonymised data to the group and compare only against similar organisations — while still retaining access to the wider market.


15. Do we need to clean our data before integrating?

No.
LiveRem automatically maps role titles to standardised benchmark roles using our job-matching engine, and you can refine mapping any time.

16. How much does LiveRem cost?

Pricing is based on employee count and billed annually.

17. Do you offer discounts?

We don’t offer general discounts.
However, some industry bodies and partner associations offer referral discounts to their members.


18. Is there a free trial?

We don’t offer a trial, but we do offer a free tier that includes:

  • 3 market searches per month

  • Access to your gender pay gap dashboard

To access insights, you will still need to integrate your payroll/HR data so it can be anonymised and aggregated.

19. Is LiveRem secure?

Yes — LiveRem is ISO27001 and SOC-2 certified. We use:

  • Encryption in transit and at rest

  • Data anonymisation & aggregation

  • Role-based access controls

  • Full audit logging

20. Where is the data stored?

In secure Google Cloud Platform environments located in New Zealand and Australia.


21. Does LiveRem comply with NZ and AU privacy laws?

Yes.
We comply with all obligations under the NZ Privacy Act, Australian Privacy Act, and follow strict confidentiality and data governance requirements.

Data Contribution & Governance

25. Why do we need to share our data?

LiveRem uses a community-based data model — the same model used by every major salary survey provider.

Your contribution enables:

  • Accurate market benchmarks

  • Reliable industry insights

  • Real-time trend analysis

  • Internal and external relativities

The key difference is that LiveRem updates continuously, not annually.


26. What data fields are pulled in?

Typically:

  • Role title (mapped to a LiveRem role)

  • Base salary

  • Year of birth

  • Gender

  • Ethnicity (if captured)

  • City/location

  • Start and end dates (automatically truncated)

  • Hours of work

  • Employee ID

  • Department

No personal identifiers are used in benchmarking.


27. Should I connect my payroll system, HR system, or both?

If all your employees are based in one country, we recommend connecting your payroll system - it gives the cleanest, most accurate data for benchmarking and total cash insights.

If you operate across multiple countries or have a global workforce, you can choose to connect both payroll and HR, or just your HR system to centralise your people data.

In the future, if you want access to total cash compensation (base salary + allowances + additional payments), you’ll need a payroll connection, as this information isn’t usually held in HR systems.

LiveRem supports multiple payroll systems. If the same employee appears across more than one system, just make sure their employee ID matches — this ensures your data maps correctly and your insights remain accurate.

31. How is LiveRem different from salary survey providers, consultants or recruiters?

Consultants, traditional salary survey providers or recruiters can be manual, slow, and expensive. They depend heavily on you doing the heavy lifting to submit your data, and you'll wait months to get a result often at a significant price tag.

LiveRem automates insights, reduces admin by 70–90%, and gives you continuous access to real-time data.
